(Page 2, 3) A key area of risk is within the supply chain - specifically in the role of products and services. There are 80 direct suppliers who are at a 'higher risk' of modern slavery.

(Page 3) This risk lies predominantly in the lower tiers of the supply chain where Whitbread does not have direct control over the employment conditions.

(Page 7) There is a lower risk of modern slavery within the Whitbread workforce as they are directly employed by the company who control working conditions.

While the above outlined statements all apply to high risk assessments, it is all too vague to really understand what high risk categories are in the Company's operations and supply chains.

The supply chains these audits covered have included: High risk categories (red) - Contract cleaners & maintenance - Food & Beverage manufacturing - Construction - Laudries - Meat suppliers - Slaughterhouses Medium risk categories (yellow) - Fresh produce - Furniture / cased goods - Uniform suppliers" p. 8 "We are aware that low skilled-jobs, including cleaning and maintenance of property, are particularly at risk of exploitation." p. 9 Laureen van Breen[https://wikirate.org/Laureen_van_Breen].....2019-08-29 15:02:42 UTC
