This project is for gathering data on a company’s number of employees, number of female employees, and the percentage of managers who are female. This data is then used to calculate the differential between female representation in the workforce and in managerial roles. This can give some insight into whether women are over or under-represented in management positions, relative to the makeup of the company’s workforce.
While this project works with just one year’s data, it is also interesting to look at whether the position of women within the company has been changing over time. Researchers are encouraged to also collect data from previous reports.
