Lobbying budget disclosed
Why is it important?
Transparency around lobbying activities – including budgets, goals and actions – is essential to assess if the company is supporting or undermining social and environmental progress.
Context:
Like many other stakeholders, companies take part in political lobbying to influence legislation and policy decisions. This can include bilateral meetings, advisory groups and roundtables, running campaigns, or through participation in industry associations.
To determine if the company disclosed its lobby budget (total monetary value), search for the following key words:
- lobby
- contribution
- donation
- politic
- G1-5 (relevant ESRS disclosure requirement)
If a lobbying budget is specified add the size of the budget and any relevant disclosure in the comments and include the page number where you found the information.
If the company does not disclose a lobby budget but a political contributions budget, that can also be accepted as a "Yes" for this metric question.
