On Page 11, VW they recognise that their raw material supply chains requires more special attention, which they narrowed down to 16 types of raw material but only name cobalt and lithium. On Page 12, VW then outlines how their “Cobalt for Development” project operates in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, recognising it as a higher risk area. For Lithium, they have identified a risk area associated with the resource but not a specific location. Rather, they mention Salar de Atacama in Chile, as a location where lithium can be acquired sustainably (Page 12).
