This sub-metric is used to evaluate the metric : ""1.4 GHG emissions intensity""
GHG emissions intensity is a key indicator when monitoring the real relative impact of a company's carbon footprint. We therefore value companies including this indicator in their reporting, albeit with different denominators to the one we have chosen.
The measure we have selected to assess the intensity of GHG emissions in the retail sector in a homogeneous way is TnCO2eq per m2.
The best way to establish a registration system that allows monitoring and improvement of the relative impact of GHGs emitted by a retail company with a large number of physical stores would be the registration in relation to the m2 of sales surface.
However, we will also answer with YES those data on the intensity of emissions with another type of denominator as established in the GRI 305-4 standard, Intensity of GHG emissions.
In this sense, this denominator can be sales in per year, m3 of merchandise, number of employees, etc ...
