US Lobbying Expenditure
The Center for Responsive Politics is a nonprofit with a mission to track money in US politics and its effect on elections and policy. Their vision is to inform, empower and advocate citizens by providing them with clear and unbiased information about political spending. The mission of the CRP is to produce and disseminate data and analysis on money in politics.
The Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 requires all active registrants to file quarterly reports with the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives and Secretary of the U.S. Senate. The Center for Responsive Politics has created an open database of lobbying disclosure data on their website opensecrets.org which is regularly updated.
Go to the Lobbying Database of the Center for Responsive Politics. Search the company you are researching in the client search. Find their Total Lobbying Expenditures and enter the total in the answer box. Cite the page where you found the information as a source.
If you cannot find the company in the database, enter 'Unknown' as the answer and cite the Lobbying Database as a source.
