Gender is an important but often overlooked sustainability issue. For example, did you know that a working woman in the US earns 79 cents to each dollar a man earns? Gender equality is achieved when people are able to enjoy the same compensation and opportunities regardless of their gender, and many organisations and initiatives are working towards achieving equality in the workplace. The global Reporting Initiative (GRI) encompasses several metrics regarding gender equality which will be used in this project to compare different company performances.
