World Benchmarking Alliance+CSI.2.A Commitment to Respect the Human Rights of Workers+Colgate-Palmolive Company+2024+Discussion

The company has a publicly available policy statement committing it to prohibiting child labour, forced labour, discrimination, and respecting the employees’ lawful freedom of association and recognition of all legal rights to organise and collectively bargain. However, it is unclear whether the company is committed to respecting freedom of association and collective bargaining in all contexts and locations, as the company indicates that it respects these rights 'in conformance with local law'. Also, the company states that it supports the ILO core conventions, however, a statement in the modern slavery statement cannot be considered a policy commitment.
