Whistleblowing is were, "an avenue for employees (both permanent and short-term) and external parties to raise concerns about illegal, unethical or otherwise inappropriate behaviour observed in the course of our businesses. " it is a self report process so it may be ineffective. Especially in countries were managers and bosses are threatening to employees in the sense that they could lose their job as a result of reporting anything. In foreign countries they aren't always provided with the same HR and employees support as a UK citizen. Also employees might not be noticing misconduct. therefore it goes unrecognised and ignored.
