They mainly mention 'major suppliers' so I couldn't see anything that goes beyond direct/tier 1

Huawei explicitly states the commitment to ensuring the absence of "modern slavery, human trafficking or child labour within its supply chains or in any part of its own business operations" and has implemented policies - Caring for Employees Policy and Sustainable Development Policy - "reflecting our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business relationships [...]" (p.2, under "The Huawei position on modern slavery"). However, the document remains extremely vague with respect to requesting the suppliers to adhere to the above-mentioned company's policies: "we require that our suppliers respect the rights of their employees, [...] and comply with legal requirements with regards to environmental protection, health and safety, privacy, and anti-bribery" (p.6, point 4), without mentioning the policies.

The only exception is made for the prohibition of child labour, for which it exists an explicit mention concerning the suppliers' requirement to comply with: "We also extend this requirement to our suppliers..." (p.8, under "Employment management commitment"). The existence of this direct mention does actually make suspicious the absence of other mentions (forced labour, human trafficking, labour rights, and the compliance with the Company's internal policies).

The information they provide only refers to their own employees. Suppliers are only mentioned in relation to child labour.
