Text disappearing when adding metric

I created a couple of metrics today, and had the issue that I would fill in the About and Methodology text, and then once I started adding categorical options for the metric, the text would turn into html (see screenshot), and then shortly after disappear. I don't know how to capture it except to show the screenshot of the interim phase.
