Subtopic creation, deletion, causing issues alongside Topic rename

A bunch of connected problems:

I renamed the Topic "Alliance for Corporate Transparency EUKI 2020" to "Alliance for Corporate Transparency: EUKI Research 2020" after adding a Subtopic to "Alliance for Corporate Transparency EUKI 2020". It actually was taking a long time to add the subtopic, so I hit cancel, and then changed the name of the topic. After doing all of this, I checked that the new name was working - it was, but it had counts showing for the Metrics, Research groups and Projects (though not actual metrics, etc being listed). I cleared the cache but nothing happened.

I then checked some of the metrics which would have pulled in the Supertopic from the Subtopic linking, and saw that they indeed did have the Alliance topic tag. I didn't realize which Alliance topic it was (I assumed it was the new rename "Alliance for Corporate Transparency: EUKI Research 2020"), so I thought, I'll use the old card name "Alliance for Corporate Transparency EUKI 2020" to host the details from the new one, then delete the new card so that it removes all those topic tags, before recreating it again freshly. I recreated the old card as a Topic "Alliance for Corporate Transparency EUKI 2020" and saw all of the Metrics pull into the Topic. So I realized that's the card that needs to be deleted. So I deleted it.

The topic has now been deleted from metrics that it was connected to through the subtopic (Transparency), but oddly they are still counted in the "Alliance for Corporate Transparency: EUKI Research 2020" topic card. I have cleared the cache again just to be sure, but the problem is sticking around.

Oh my poor old brain.

I get the counts didn't align with the results. That's a cache of sorts but not one you can clear (it's more precise to say the count is stored in the main database). I gather there is a bug with updating that count when things are deleted. (I think we have other tickets that suggest this is a broader problem)

I also get that you renamed ...EUKI... to ...EUKI Research..., and that there was some weirdness along the way, possibly with some of the topic tag cards failing to update to the new name (?)

What I don't understand is whether you wanted to delete all the linkages between the metrics and the topic or whether that was an accident. They do appear to be gone, so I'm not sure what our next steps are.

Haha, sorry for ruining your brain. It looks fixed, so I'm happy. No next steps needed (except maybe the deeper problems you mentioned), I did want to delete the linkages.
