To overcome the occurring overtime, Vaude has several instruments to mitigate the risk: a flexible planning system with their own warehouse that allows them to adjust the delivery dates to the retailer when needed; the option to prioritize orders, or split the delivery of orders. A last case scenario is air freight. Upon receipt of the audit reports, Vaude has discussed issues of why overtime keeps occurring at the production sites. In most cases it was because of unpredictable orders of other clients to the production sites."
