We prioritise reuse as product, ahead of recycling. Items are only destroyed if considered hazardous waste, if contaminated, or when there is no viable recycling or downcycling solution. This lack of solutions may be due to the absence of technology to recycle certain product types — for example certain beauty products or hard goods like ceramics — or infrastructure gaps in specific locations.
