In addition to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, other global standards exist for precious metals and stones. Among the main standards developed to guide companies to adopt responsible sourcing practices are:
- The Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD),
- the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme
- Two standards by the Responsible Jewellery Council (Member Certification and Chain of Custody Certification).
