"In recent years, we saw our results paying off with our greenhouse gas emissions lowering by approximately 7% or 37,900 metric tons of CO2e. Our strategy included: • Vendor to-store direct shipments for more direct shipping • Intermodal travel systems which consolidate shipments via rail rather than individual trucks Renewable Energy – Macy’s, Inc. has 100 active on-site solar installations at our facilities nationwide making us a leader in the re‐ tail space for solar energy production. The solar installations produced 61 million kilowatt-hours of clean power, which offset 43,177 metric tons of carbon emissions from the grid in 2019. All but a small amount of the green energy generated by these installations is sold to others. To continue our progress toward a low-carbon transition, Macy’s, Inc. has set a goal to host a total of 110 solar sites by 2025."
