In page 5 of Sainsbury's Modern Slavery Statement it states:

 

"The Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Committee oversees the sustainability of our

business. The Committee’s principal role is to review our sustainability strategy - Plan for Better -

ensuring it is aligned with the Company’s purpose, strategy, culture, vision, and values. The committee

has oversight of our policies relating to modern slavery and monitors engagement with stakeholders on

sustainability and corporate responsibility, including customers, suppliers, the community, colleagues,

shareholders and government.

 

The CR&S Committee is chaired by Non-Executive Director, Keith Weed. Overall responsibility for modern slavery sits with our board of directors."

 

It is clearly states that the CR&S Committee oversees policies of the company relating to modern slavery which is chaired by Keith Weed and overall responsibility is in the hands of the Board of Directors.
