Metric+definition

Metrics are ways to measure company performance. Metrics consist of a question, an About section explaining why or how the question is being asked, and a methodology that describes how the answers are researched. Explore metrics to compare companies, understand methodologies, and weigh in on what matters to you.

On Wikirate there are two types of metrics:

(Research) Metrics

A Research Metric is the simplest type of metric - it is a way of asking the same question of many companies.

Calculated Metrics

Calculated metrics are dynamically determined from other metric answers and are automatically updated when values change. There are three types of Calculated Metrics: Formula, Scoring system, or Ratings system. Formulas generate new values from existing data using free-form mathematical formulas and make use of Wolfram Language integration. Scores normalize answer values on a 1-10 scale. WikiRatings combine scores with weighted averages. To see examples of calculated metrics, go to the Metrics page, click “Show Advanced”, and select a “Metric Type”.
