Clariant state their total Volatile organic compounds (VOC) emmited are 208 tonnes stated in the 2017 GRI Report under Disclousre 305-7 Nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx), and other significant air emissions. This is an increase from 2016's VOC's emmited which was 156 tonnes emmited.
Although not specifically stated in Clariants Integrated Online Report 2017, Clariant state: "Clariant and its products are at the forefront of a growing trend in China towards both higher quality and sustainability." written under Review of Results Case study:Driving Sustainability. Clariant also state in their case study:"Our catalysts not only reduce energy requirements and secondary pollutants. They also reach conversion rates as high as 99.9 percent, well exceeding current environmental regulations worldwide.« On top of that, the EnviCat® VOC system takes up a lot less space, which can be especially important when retrofitting existing production equipment. As a result, Clariant’s EnviCat® VOC catalyst solution has been implemented in a number of large plants especially in regions such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.". Clariant sustain that their processing of VOC systems can eliminate VOCs at a rate that can be as high as 99.9 percent. This is not a specified metric however as the wording on their statement does not sustain 99.9 percent elimination of VOCs but sustains that they "can be as high as 99.9 percent".
