Empowering workers in our supply chain is about more than just providing them with information on their human rights. It’s also about providing the structures that allow them to have a voice, raise any issues they face, and access effective remedy. It is therefore key that our approach to empowering workers supports the strengthening of democratic institutions, such as trade unions, and encourages social dialogue in all its forms.”

'Our GFA also commits us to building relationships with national trade unions to enable an environment for freedom of association and collective bargaining and allows trade union affiliates in sourcing countries to raise issues within our supply chain through IndustriALL. We are currently in the process of renegotiating our current GFA with a view to strengthening the right of workers to freedom of association and providing a clearer complaint resolution mechanism.' - 9
