When you edit an answer previously marked as “unknown”, the new information is not saved even when it is submitted correctly. Meaning, the answer is updated but the value remains "unknown". Probably it is because the “unknown” box remains ticked during the editing.

The risk is that a researcher contribution to update or correct an aswer is lost, because he or she may not notice that the updated answer was not saved.
