Overview

history edit build

Water Conservation evaluates how a company minimises fresh-water withdrawal and consumption across its operations and value chain while safeguarding local water availability and ecosystem health. It covers:

  • efficiency measures and technological upgrades (e.g., closed-loop cooling, low-flow fixtures, high-pressure cleaning, dry processing) that reduce absolute and intensity-based water use;
  • capture, treatment and reuse/recycling of process water, greywater and condensate;
  • rain-water harvesting and alternative sources (treated effluent, desalinated water) that relieve pressure on potable or stressed basins;
  • integration of water-saving targets into design, maintenance and behavioural-change programmes, with monitoring and disclosure aligned to frameworks such as GRI 303, EU ESRS E3 and SDG 6.
