Waste Management & Disposal Practices assesses how a company handles all waste streams - from generation to final treatment - across the waste-management hierarchy. It covers:
- prevention and reduction at source through process optimisation, material substitution and eco-design;
- on-site segregation, safe storage and internal logistics for general, hazardous, electronic and construction wastes;
- selection, auditing and oversight of downstream contractors for reuse, recycling, energy recovery, composting, incineration and landfill, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance (e.g., Basel Convention, EU Waste Framework Directive, national RCRA/WEEE rules);
- integration of waste KPIs into environmental-management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001), target setting (absolute and intensity) and disclosure under frameworks such as GRI 306, EU ESRS E5 and SDG 12.
