Safety Training evaluates how a company equips employees, contractors and, where relevant, supply-chain partners with the knowledge, skills and behavioural expectations needed to identify hazards, follow safe work procedures and respond effectively to emergencies. It covers:
- induction & onboarding modules that familiarise new hires and contractors with site-specific risks, policies, emergency routes, personal-protective-equipment (PPE) use and incident-reporting protocols;
- role- and task-specific instruction (e.g., lock-out/tag-out, confined-space entry, work-at-height, powered-industrial-truck operation, chemical handling) delivered before assignment and refreshed at prescribed intervals;
- regulatory & certification compliance - mandatory licensing (e.g., electrical, radiation, forklift), annual OSHA or equivalent courses, ISO 45001 competence requirements and alignment with GRI 403-5;
- interactive methods & competency checks - hands-on drills, scenario-based learning, e-learning modules with quizzes, VR simulations, and supervisor observations to verify understanding and safe behaviour;
- performance tracking & continuous improvement - metrics on training hours per employee, completion rates, assessment scores and correlation with incident trends, feeding into programme updates and management review.
