Overview

history edit build

Organic and Sustainable Products evaluates how a company designs, sources, certifies and markets goods whose ingredients, materials and production processes meet recognised organic standards (e.g., EU Organic Regulation, USDA NOP) and/or broader sustainability criteria (regenerative agriculture, fair trade, low-impact chemistry, cradle-to-cradle). It covers:

  • verified organic raw-materials sourcing, including soil-health, biodiversity and animal-welfare practices;
  • additional sustainability attributes - carbon-neutral farming, water stewardship, ethical labor, circular packaging - that extend beyond baseline organic requirements;
  • certification and chain-of-custody systems (EU organic logo, USDA Organic, COSMOS, GOTS, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, Cradle to Cradle Certified) ensuring product integrity and transparent labelling;
  • product-design choices that prioritise renewable, bio-based, minimally processed inputs and recyclable or compostable packaging;
  • measurable targets and KPIs (share of certified organic/sustainable products, acreage converted, lifecycle impact reductions) disclosed in line with frameworks such as GRI 301/304, EU ESRS E5/E4 and SDG 12.
