Gender Equality evaluates how a company promotes equal rights, responsibilities, opportunities and rewards for people of all genders across its workforce, leadership pipeline, supply chain and product or service ecosystems. It covers:
- policy commitments & governance – board-approved gender-equality statements, measurable targets (e.g., 50 % women in management by 2030) and C-suite accountability linked to remuneration;
- recruitment, retention & advancement – gender-balanced candidate slates, unbiased assessment tools, mentorship/sponsorship programmes, succession planning and flexible-work options that support career continuity;
- pay equity & benefits – regular gender-pay-gap analyses (mean, median, adjusted), transparent remediation plans, inclusive parental-leave policies and fair access to bonuses, pensions and share plans;
- safe, inclusive workplace culture – zero-tolerance policies on harassment and discrimination, robust grievance mechanisms, gender-sensitive health & safety measures, and employee-resource groups that foster belonging;
- value-chain & customer impact – supplier-diversity initiatives, gender-responsive sourcing, product and marketing practices that avoid stereotypes and expand women’s economic participation;
- data transparency & disclosure – voluntary and regulatory reporting of gender representation, pay equity, leadership ratios and target progress in line with GRI 405, UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, ISO 30415, EU Pay-Transparency Directive and forthcoming EU ESRS S1 requirements.
