EDF's statement identifies resources and industries where the risk of modern slavery is the greatest. EDF identifies power station maintenance and development, Smart Meter Production and Installation, and Fuel Supply are the company's highest risk areas. In terms of resources they mention coal under the fuel supply risk, "Whilst we recognize that the supply chain for commodity market-traded coal lacks transparency, we limit the use of this source of supply as much as possible"(2). In terms of industry the statement includes "Nuclear generation and nuclear new build activities are subject to oversight from the Office for Nuclear Regulation and part of this oversight requires a high level of transparency from our suppliers"(2). This quote falls under Power station maintenance and development.
