This collaborative research project is organized in partnership with Walk Free, focusing on the assessment of corporate statements across various jurisdictions.

Volunteers are contributing by evaluating company disclosures to compile data for the analysis of approximately 100 companies spanning multiple sectors. The companies were selected based on criteria such as size (profits), sector, reporting obligations, and report availability.

The reports being assessed fall under the following jurisdictions:

• France: Duty of Vigilance (Devoir de Vigilance)

• Germany: German Supply Chain Act (LkSG)

• Norway: Norway Transparency Act (NTA)

Project Goals

The project seeks to address key questions regarding corporate transparency and human rights practices:

1. Impact of Reporting Requirements: Do stricter reporting requirements lead to higher-quality disclosures and greater transparency compared to the Modern Slavery Act (MSA)?
2. Implementation of Due Diligence Processes: Are companies implementing due diligence processes? What specific processes are reported, such as remediation measures?
3. Reporting on Modern Slavery and Human Rights: How do companies report on modern slavery/forced labor compared to other human rights issues? By answering these questions, the project aims to uncover trends and gaps in corporate disclosures and contribute to the broader understanding of how reporting legislation influences transparency and accountability.
