This metric is based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Sector Supplement - Event Organizers. It covers one of the reporting requirements of Indicator G4-EO6 – 'Type and impacts of initiatives to create an accessible environment'.

Access is a fundamental component of human rights and social justice. An accessible event environment is one with no barriers (including non-physical barriers) preventing it from being used equally, safely, confidently, independently and with dignity by everyone.

Refer to EO5 to report on broader social inclusivity issues.

Methodology

Indicate whether the organization reports on the types of initiatives taken to create an accessible environment by choosing Yes or No

An accessible environment in these Sector Disclosures, refers to an environment with no barriers (including nonphysical barriers) preventing it from being used equally, safely, confidently, independently, and with dignity by everyone.

An event environment in these Sector Disclosures, refers to primary event sites, offsite and satellite events, and any other relevant areas of service activity, including amenities (such as food, sanitation and accommodation) and transportation to the event.

If provided, in the comments section include examples of initiatives to create an accessible environment.
