"Although we have implemented policies and procedures designed to facilitate compliance with laws and regulations relating to production of merchandise, doing business in foreign countries and importing merchandise, and to screen, train and monitor our private label vendors to ensure safe and ethical treatment of workers in our supply chain, there can be no assurance that our vendors and other third parties with whom we do business will not violate such laws and regulations or our policies, which could subject us to liability and could adversely impact our reputation, results of operations and business." on page 16 of annual report, again they don't clearly state, but they do scan every suppler beforehand and train them

"Audits are conducted using the Supplier Code of Conduct. Suppliers that are “at risk” are given the opportunity to make improvements through a formal corrective action plan process that is prepared by our third-party auditor. If a supplier does not comply, Macy’s, Inc. holds the right to terminate the relationship" on page 14 of sustainability report, which shows their audits
