SUB-PROJECT (of Business Contributions to the SDGs (PRME Research))
Great Lakes Institute of Management Research

With the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development it is of high relevance to governments, companies and their stakeholders to track and assess the contributions of business to the achievement of the SDGs. This project is a partnership between the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and WikiRate, to support this need, engaging students in advancing the SDGs by proactively researching, analyzing and sharing the achievements of companies in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as reported in sustainability reports and Communication on Progress reports (COPs) submitted to the UN Global Compact.

By researching and analyzing company performance and making new data available on WikiRate, students and researchers contribute to understanding corporate sustainability and issues of subjectivity, contextualization of data and comparability.

The metrics for research in this page are developed by the Global Reporting Initiative and the Poverty Footprint, and referred to as contributing to specific SDGs in the SDG Compass. See how the SDG Compass metrics map to SDGs on WikiRate. The “Core” metrics are metrics found to be widely reported across sectors in an preliminary analysis. We hope to expand on this analysis through this next stage of research.

To research your company/ies, see the example company below to reference how data can be found and added, and where to add contextual information (like page numbers and calculations! see Tips, Tutorials & Trouble-shooting) to your research.

See your step-by-step instructions on research here. For further guidance see support, tips and trouble-shooting below under “Conversation”.
