"400 Bad Request"+Discussion

I fixed the issue on the Topic Page -- it was using the raw name of the metric in the link, but browsers have special meanings for things like "%", so it really needs to use a cleaned up version.

The search bar thing is a bit more involved, but there's an easy workaround -- use the full name.

The full name of this metric is "Global Reporting Initiative+Water Recycled (%) (G4-EN10-b)". Why? It's about managing naming rights, really.

It's not super likely that there will ever be multiple metrics named "Water Recycled (%) (G4-EN10-b)", but there may be lots of metrics named "Climate Change Rating". It's baked into the system that every card has unique names. This makes for pretty urls and simple references between cards. Rather than make it so that the first person to grab the name got to claim it, we made it so that the designer's name is part of the full name of the metric. If you search for "Global Reporting Initiative+Water", it will autolink you to the right place.

What you came across at "Water Recycled (%) (G4-EN10-b)" was the stub created by this metric. In principle, we want these stubs to have the cardtype "Metric Title", but that type is not getting automatically assigned yet. I changed the type so that you can see the (ugly so far) way that we'll be able to make it so that you can link from there to the metric or metrics with that name.

Awesome quick fix and explanation. It is really helpful to understand what is going on when these kinds of things happen, thanks so much!
