First off, +10 for the links.
OK, so my first reaction was that calculated metrics are by definition not researchable, so the bug here is that there's a research button at all.
But if I understand correctly, your implicit feature suggestion (cleverly disguised as a bug report) is that every calculated metric can sort of behave like a de facto project, so that if I click "research answer" on a missing calculated answer, then I am taken to a research page that filters for research metrics that feed that calculated metric.
That's a deer with one good eye.
Pending discussion with our esteemed Product Manager, I would suggest that we remove the button for now but bring it back and make it behave as you suggest when we upgrade the Research/Answer page interface (scheduled for next month).
(I meant, that's one-good-eye deer)
I like the deer with one good eye.
Cool, I'm on board with removing the button for now. And yes I was of course thinking that if it did work as a research page, that would be even cooler:)
alex is on board ;)
Hi Theresa, we have removed the "research answer" button for calculated values for now to solve this issue. In the coming months we will consider how to optimise this user journey and enable researchers to add raw values for calculated metrics. For now though I will close this ticket. Alex
